Mistress nell

Mistress nell
The romantic comedy by George C. Hazelton Jr. opened on 9 October 1900 at the Bijou and ran for 104 performances. Henrietta Crosman played the renowned orange wench-turned-king's mistress Nell Gwynne. Because theatergoers had seen other plays about Nell Gwynne, the interest of this one centered upon the witty repartee and the period costumes.
